Classical Pianist and conductor Jim Stopher has accepted an invitation to present a solo recital in our beautiful Sausalito Woman’s Club on Sunday, April 14, 2024, 3:00 PM!
Pianist Jim Stopher will perform pieces by Mozart, Schubert, Mendelssohn, and Chopin on SWC’s beautiful grand piano. Mr. Stopher maintains an active career as a conductor, pianist, composer, and educator. He is the head of the Music Department at College of Marin and has led the College of Marin Symphony Orchestra for the past six seasons. He has been a piano soloist with several city orchestras, and the Music Director of others. His recent solo performance with the Mill Valley Philharmonic was fabulous! At the College of Marin, he teaches courses in music theory, repertoire, history, and ear training. Mr. Stopher graduated from the renown Peabody Conservatory of Music, where he studied with conductors Gustav Meier, Markand Thakar, and Marin Alsop (who is the conductor laureate of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and chief conductor of the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra). He is enthusiastic about bringing music to residents of Marin County, both through his work at the college and with programs in the community. We are thrilled that he agreed to perform at SWC!
Event Co-chairs are Paula Monsef and Susie Visher. Light refreshments and wine will be available. Charge is $20. RSVP online or to [email protected] or by text to Susie at 415 244-4081
