Discover one of the Bay Area’s best-kept secrets with this moderate 5-mile loop. Baltimore Canyon, once home to the tallest redwoods and a logging and sawmill camp in the 1850s, later became a hippie enclave in the early 70s. Today, it offers seclusion, serenity, and breathtaking beauty. The Dawn Falls Trail, a favorite among hikers, winds through deep woods alongside a roaring creek, culminating in a stunning waterfall. We’ll switch back up to the ridge, loop around, and descend back to the canyon floor. Bring hiking poles for added stability. We’ll conclude with lunch nearby at Perry’s.
