SF ROOFTOP GARDEN WALK AT TRANSBAY TERMINAL

We’ll walk through a spectacular 7-acre garden of trees, flowers, rock memorials and meadows that make up the nation’s first AIDS Memorial. A stop at the Shakespeare Garden, lunch and an exhibit at the DeYoung Museum will complete this 3-mile walk. Carpool form SWC.

PHOENIX LAKE

Join us for a 2.8 mile easy loop around Phoenix Lake, one of the favorite trails in the area. For hikers who would like to add mileage and experience more natural beauty, there is an option to add another 4.5 miles via the Yolanda, Bill Williams and Tucker Trails. Following the hike, we will stop for lunch at a local cafe.

CLASSIC MISSION MURAL WALK

Join us for a fascinating guided tour of the beautiful hand painted murals in the Mission, led by the Precita Eyes Art Center. One hour tour. Wear comfortable attire; hat and shoes. Lunch to follow at a local restaurant.

CASCADE CANYON HIKE

This 6-mile moderate hike with mild elevation will take us through Mill Valley, from Miller Avenue to the Pixie Trail, continuing on to the Cypress Trail, until we reach Cascade Canyon. We’ll stop along the way to admire the Cascade Falls. Join us for lunch at the Cantina afterwards.

MATT DAVIS/STEEP RAVINE TRAILS HIKE

A strenuous but spectacular 7.5 mile hike beginning at Pantoll and then hiking down the Matt  

Davis Trail to Stinson Beach. The first section is 4.4 miles with mostly level or downhill terrain and sweeping views of the ocean. Lunch at Parkside Café then returning to Pantoll via the Steep Ravine Trail. This 3.0 mile return trail is mostly uphill in a ravine filled with ferns and waterfalls. Wear hiking shoes and bring money for lunch. Hat, water and sticks are strongly encouraged.  

Note: For those who do not want to hike back after lunch, there is a Marin Stagecoach bus leaving the Stinson Beach parking lot at 3pm, arriving at Pantoll at 3:15pm.

ROCK SPRINGS LOOP

This beautiful 5-6 mile hike will take us on some of Mt. Tam’s narrow footpaths with panoramic views, wildflowers, redwood trees, streams and fascinating history. We will visit the historic West Point Inn and Mountain Theater built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Bring poles/sticks to help navigate uneven terrain. SECOND FRIDAY ART WALK IN SAN RAFAEL

Friday, Join us for a 2nd Friday Art Walk in San Rafael. We will meet at Bohemia, then head over to Marin Society of Artists to see their latest.  

From there we will have a look at Art Works Downtown and finally end up at Marin Jewelers where we will hopefully not do too much damage. After our art walk, we will have dinner at and talk about the art we saw.

MUIR WOODS LOOP FROM MOUNTAIN HOME INN

We’ll begin at the Mountain Home Inn, and this wonderful moderate-to-strenuous 5.5 mile loop will take us through forests to Camp Alice Eastwood and down into Muir Woods. We’ll explore this treasure and continue the hike up the Ocean View Trail to Panoramic Trail, finishing at the Mountain Home Inn, where we will have lunch. Water, Hat, Sticks strongly encouraged to navigate uneven terrain.
